The Norwegian Association for Computers and Law (Norwegian abbreviation: NFJE) was established in 1980 and has since served as a professional and social meeting place for lawyers, technologists and others with an interest for computers and law in Norway.
The association has it roots in the Norwegian Research Center for Computers and Law at the University of Oslo and the two organisations still co-operate closely.
Forum Rettsinformatikk (Forum Computer Law) and Forum Telekom (Forum Telecom) are the annual fora for respectively computers and law, and telecommunications law. Both events are organised in co-operation with the national Center for Continuing Legal Education. Additionally, several seminars, courses and meetings are organised each year on an ad hoc basis.
The traditional Christmas party "Jul og EDB" (eng: Christmas and Computers) is the association's main social event. Additionally. members meet every first Monday of the month at KlubBing, which is held in Professor Jon Bing's home.
The journal Lov og Data (eng: Law and Computers) is distributed in association with the NFJE and to all its members, with Professor Bing as the main editor.
The Norwegian Association for Computers and Law is a member of the International Federation of Computer Law Associations (IFCLA).
